Darnley's Smoke and Zest Gin is available at Nicolas

We're thrilled to partner with Nicolas Wine Merchants to launch our smoky gin, Smoke and Zest, in France this winter. The distinctive smoky gin will be available in almost 500 stores across France from November.

We first launched Smoke and Zest in the UK as the second gin in our limited edition Cottage Series, telling the story of Fife through botanicals found locally to the Darnley’s Gin Distillery. The gin was inspired by locally grown barley and the quest to create a ‘smoky gin’, resulting in an innovative recipe which is made in the London Dry style.

Darnley's Smoke and Zest Cocktails

THE PERFECT SERVE

Ingredients:
50ml Darnley’s Smoke and Zest Gin
Good quality tonic
Orange peel. 

Method:
Fill your highball glass with cubed ice. Add your measure of gin and top with a quality tonic (we like a 2:1 ratio). Add your pre-peeled orange peel into your glass to garnish and voila it’s the Darnley’s Smoke & Zest Perfect Serve. Enjoy!

SMOKY NEGRONI

Ingredients:
30ml Darnley’s Smoke & Zest Gin
30ml Campari
30ml Sweet Vermouth.

Method:
Fill your measuring jug half-full with ice.
And then into this we want equal parts smoke and zest gin, Campari and vermouth
Once everything is in, you want to give this a stir gently for about 30 seconds.
Get all the ice moving at the same time so you get the correct dilution in there.
Now that you’ve stirred your drink for 30 seconds, grab yourself a rocks glass and a large ice-cube (we use a large ice-cube so that there is minimal dilution) Garnish this with an orange peel. Put that into the glass and voila – the delicious smoky negorni using Darnley’s Smoke & Zest gin. Enjoy!
